• Nnamdi Kanu slams Iheanacho and Ndidi for displaying Nigerian flag
• The duo won the oldest trophy in England by defeating Chelsea
• Kanu said the players are not in support of the Biafra movement
Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has chastised Super Eagles players Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi for flying the Nigerian flag after the FA Cup victory.
Leicester City won the oldest trophy in England by defeating Chelsea by a goal at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
In response, Kanu said that the Nigerian players' decision demonstrates that they do not support his agitation for the state of Biafra.
The IPOB chief took to Twitter to highlight a case of Gerard Pique, a Spanish defender for Barcelona, who proudly supports his native city, Catalonia.
“With over 103 caps for Spain, Gerard Pique is a World Cup winner. He never gave up on Catalonia's independence. He has expressed open support for Catalan independence on many occasions.”
“But what about our Iheanacho and Ndidi with the #Zoo flag? Broken heart, broken heart, broken heart, broken heart, broken heart, broken heart, broken heart, broken heart, broken
Gerard Pique is a World Cup winner with over 103 caps for Spain. He never turned his back against Catalonia freedom. Severally, he has shown open support for Catalan freedom.
