A photo of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle embracing star striker Victor Osimhen has gone viral, generating widespread reactions on social media.

The image, shared by photojournalist Pooja on Instagram, captures the emotional moment Chelle fell into Osimhen's arms after the final whistle of Nigeria’s disappointing 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe on Tuesday, March 26.

The result significantly dents the Super Eagles' chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

"The moment Eric Chelle was lost in the arms of Victor Osimhen," Pooja captioned the viral photo.

Despite the setback, some fans expressed optimism, believing the team can still secure a place in the tournament.

Osimhen had given Nigeria the lead in the 74th minute, but Zimbabwe equalized in stoppage time through Tawanda Chirewa. The late goal saw Chirewa glide past William Troost-Ekong before calmly slotting the ball under goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.

With the draw, the Super Eagles remain in fourth place in Group C, trailing leaders South Africa.
