Tottenham Hotspur defender, Toby Alderweireld has been honoured as the PFA Community Champion for 2019/20.

The Belgium international took to Twitter to make the announcement.

The centre back was overjoyed at the award and stressed the need for footballers to give back to the local community.

"An honour to get the @PFA Community Champion award for 2019/20! As footballers, I think we all have an important role in giving back to the local community and I have always enjoyed connecting with people in this way," he wrote.
