The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje believes more members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) will soon defect to the ruling party.

Ganduje made the bold statement at an empowerment program in Kano on Sunday, February 24 as he expressed confidence that the policies of the APC will attract more political stalwarts to crossship.

“We thank you very much for resisting the campaign from different political parties, especially that dying party called NNPP,” he said.

“We thank you for creating a conducive environment and behaving so well. We thank you for inviting them into our party. They are coming into our party in silence, and very soon, we will receive senior officers, legislators, senators, former this, former that, from that dying party, NNPP. They will all come to our party, the great APC.”

This comment comes after the former Kano State Governor, and Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin were spotted at the residence of an opposition senator

Recall, Senator Kawu Sumaila, representing Kano South under the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) defected to the APC ahead of the 2023 elections following a prolonged leadership crisis within the party.
