The China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) have been given a duration of six months to complete the reconstruction of the Magboro-Makogi Road, in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

MyNigeria reported that work began on the road last week with men of the CCECC seen clearing the clogged drainages by the sides of the road abandoned by a previous contractor.

The construction company had inspected the road in December with a promise to commence work in January.

The road branches off from the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and also connects to roads leading to Ibafo.

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State who visited the area last year, vowed to approve the contract for the reconstruction.

According to Abiodun, the reconstructed road will open up the area for business, adding that his administration is looking to acquire land for rice farming in the area.

The Magboro-Makogi Road is known to be full of potholes, making driving a misery for motorists, especially during rainy season.

The care for the had been subjected to some community leaders who do their best with caterpillars to grade the road during the dry season to make it easier to ply by motorists.
