FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike says the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is united in Rivers State despite the crisis rocking the state.
The former Rivers governor gave the assurance in a media parley with selected journalists despite the public rift with his political godson and predecessor, Siminalayi Fubara.
“PDP is united in Rivers,” the minister said while calling for aggrieved party members to come together.
“Some people have been governors and lost elections. PDP has held ward, and local government congresses hitch-free.”
Wike and Fubara have not seen eye-to-eye on several issues after the later was elected Governor of the state in 2023.
While Fubara became the number one man in Rivers State, Wike was later appointed a cabinet Minister by President Bola Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
Fubara's term has been rocked with controversy and he has survived an impeachment attempt by lawmakers loyal to Nyesom Wike.
Fubara and the Rivers State House of Assembly have been having a running battle with the pro-Wike lawmakers overriding the governor on some crucial bills in the state.
