A fire outbreak occurred at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) Tank Farm located on Kayode Street, Marine Beach, Apapa, Lagos, on Friday.
The blaze reportedly started around 11 am, causing panic as individuals scrambled to extinguish the flames before the arrival of professional rescue teams.
Preliminary reports suggest that the fire was triggered by a spillage of petroleum products within the terminal's boundaries.
Margaret Adeseye, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed the incident, highlighting that the combined efforts of the fire service and emergency responders from the oil and gas sector successfully managed the emergency.
