Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has nominated 23 individuals to take over as Chairmen of the local governments in the state.

The names of the nominees have been forwarded to the factional Rivers State House of Assembly.

This comes amid a growing political crisis in the state as a result of past council chairmen’s unwillingness to quit their seats after their terms expired.

According to a statement made on Tuesday night by the Clerk of the House, G.M. Gillis-West, the Assembly invited the nominees for screening on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m.

Below are the names of the caretaker chairmen nominated by Fubara

Ahoada West LGA – Mr. Daddy John Green

Akuku Toru LGa – Otonye Briggs
