A video showing motorists and residents running helter-skelter for safety after a petrol tanker fell and caught fire at the Aduloju area along Iwo road/Ojoo end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The incident occurred on Thursday, February 13, 2025, when the truck reportedly fell while attempting to navigate around another truck on the pothole-dotted expressway.

Residents and road users immediately contacted the fire services to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby houses.

The General Manager of State Fire Services, Revd. Akinyemi Akinyinka, who confirmed the incident to the Nigerian Tribune, said one tanker caught fire but could not ascertain the level of the casualty.

“Our men are at the scene of the incident now. They are managing the result. They are being assisted by the staff of the BOVAS filling station," he said.
