The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), Adolphus Wabara, has blamed the recent brawl that occurred during a meeting held at the party’s headquarters on inadequate security.
Recall that on January 29, 2025, a fight broke out at the meeting of the BoT over the leadership crisis involving the national secretary position.
In response to the incident, Wabara, who was present at the BoT meeting on Wednesday in Abuja, said the party’s BoT would no longer hold meetings at the party headquarters until security improves.
He said, “While we look ahead with optimism, we must also acknowledge the unfortunate incident that took place during our last board of trustees meeting.
“These incidents were largely due to inadequate security at the party headquarters. As a result and after thorough consideration, the BoT has resolved that until the security situation is effectively addressed, its subsequent meetings will be held outside of the party secretariat.
“The safety of our members and the integrity of our discussions must never be compromised,” he said.
The former senate president encouraged the PDP leadership to ensure that the party secretariat remains a safe and secure place for party affairs.
