Jimoh Ibrahim, the lawmaker representing Ondo South Senatorial District says the President Bola Tinubu-led administration will deploy Artificial Technology (AI) to solve the insecurity that has plagued Nigerians.
Ibrahim, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs made the revelation on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, December 18.
According to him, this administration will use AI to tackle insecurity in 2025 referencing the allocation of ₦4.91tn to defense and security in Tinubu’s budget proposal.
He noted that 2025 will be a tough year for criminals as he disclosed that the current administration plans to develop apps to track down bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists.
“He will use AI to the security personnel to make life uncomfortable for them,” arguing that with security gulping about ₦5 trillion, the nation’s economic fortunes would be turned around.
“If he is able to do that with ₦5 trillion, it would lead to more revenue as we are able to produce more crude oil. This way you make more money.
“If we spend N5 trillion on security, we would have more peace and produce more oil,” Jimoh stated.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu presented the ₦49.7tn Budget Proposal before a joint session of the National Assembly with the security and defence, infrastructure, health, and education gulping some high allocations
The President listed some of the highlights of the budget as defence and security – ₦4.91tn, infrastructure – ₦4.06tn, health – ₦2.4tn, education – ₦3.5tn, among others.
