The Labour Party has reportedly suspended its chairman in Rivers State, Hilda Dokubo, as a member of the party in her ward, Asari Toru Local Government Area of the state.

The suspension letter was addressed to the Labour Party Chairman of the Asari Toru LGA and signed by the Ward Chairman, Ajalamonia Ibama; the Secretary, Lole Amacheer and the Treasurer, Emmanuel Ibamathe.

Others involved in the decision include the Women’s Leader, Mrs Osaki Dieypiriye, and the Publicity Secretary, Osaki Dokubo.

The 54-year-old actress was suspended after an emergency meeting held by the party’s ward executive committee on Thursday, July 15.

The executives accused Dokubo of financial misconduct, abuse of office, and breach of party regulations, among other allegations.

The decision to suspend Dokubo was made after an investigation was conducted, revealing substantial evidence to support the claim.

Hilda Dokubo has not yet responded to the allegations.
