Former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai met with Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, in the 2023 elections on Thursday, June 27.

The former Governor hosted the former presidential candidate at his Abuja residence after he visited former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.

He had also visited the national chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Abuja.

These visits have started political debates on traditional and social media ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Recall El-Rufai was nominated for a ministerial position by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu but he was dropped in the dying minutes during screening.

Since then, he has criticized the government claiming that this administration was spending more money on petrol subsidies than the previous governments.

According to him, “the federal government is now subsidizing fuel; many people don’t know this”.
