The surprise meeting between the former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, and the governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stirred a lot of controversies amongst Nigerians on social media.
Many citizens on Twitter believe that Fani-Kayode's claim that the visit provided a "frank, candid, fruitful, and productive discussion" about Nigeria was nothing but wishful thinking.
Others feel this is just the duo playing to the gallery and trying to make people believe that they are serious about the nation's myriad of challenges and the way out of them.
A Twitter subscriber, Nwa Chukwu, fumed over the untold plight of the masses who voted the current administration into power but are living in abject penury.
He tweeted: "Shame! Are you aware of this.. If you are did you tell him the sufferings people are passing through? "What about the PDP woman that was burnt alive in her house just for being an opposition in the state, what about the voter's intimidation, what about tatatatata... Shame."
Another Nigerian, Yinka Oluwole, wrote: "It's this kind of famzing that makes it difficult for any to take you serious."Egbon dey one place, you know who is who in Nigeria, it's not about bitterness, it's about recognizing what people stand for and deciding to identify with or stay away from it."
Also, Ebubechukwu tweeted: "My brother, can a pig birth a Lion? It’s these compromises that have kept Nigeria backward till date. "If someone is not doing well, you don’t tell him he is doing well. That man is a disappointment as the Youngest governor. Look at his handling of Covid-19."
Yet another Twitter user, Prot. t. vision, said: "FFK is hustling for his pocket after enough eguje from the treasury of Kogi Yahaya Bello will become a good friend of FFK."He will now start singing his praise like OBJ said when u give FFK food to eat he will sing ur praise bt when you remove the food from his mouth u become an enemy."
It was an honor to have spent quality time with my friend& brother Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi state last night. We had a frank, candid, fruitful& productive discussion about the way forward for our country. This is a clear case of politics without bitterness& of building bridges. pic.twitter.com/BaJXr2IEbZ
