However, the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) responded to that video, saying that the bridge was intact and could hold for the next 100 years.
According to a report obtained from Daily Trust, Engineer Adenusi who conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the affected area, allayed fears of an imminent bridge collapse.
He said the affected area was an expression joint which was rather harmless to road users. He noted that the bridge had nine of such expression joints on both sides of the highway, which are to prevent the opposing rods from colliding.
He reassured commuters not to panic, saying that the assessed areas were been taken into account by the Government and a contractor would be mobilised to the site soon.
Nigerians reacted to the news.

Not single survival instincts from y’all.
Get four flat woods and place it across the open space on the bridge..
P.S Both lanes.
I know the government would be blamed for this...it's happens in foreign countries too which also claim lives too but thank God this case is different...it would definitely be fixed.. Don't blame Nigeria for everything!!!!

When will Nigeria herself not split apart eventually... Simple and important infrastructures can't be maintained but some buffoons want to spend billions on renovating some stupid house of assembly.
