The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has advised former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to move on from his grievances and cease his persistent criticism of the current administration.

According to Onanuga, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain should stop acting like a child whose "bread has been stolen."

He made the comment during an exclusive interview on Channels TV's Sunrise Daily on Tuesday, February 25.

"I pity former Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. He feels hurt that he wasn't made a minister, and I think it's been a long time now. The ministers came in August 2023, and I think it's time for him to move on and stop behaving like a child, as if someone stole his bread and he's still crying," Onanuga said.

"It is natural for him to feel hurt. It is natural for him to feel bad that he has been excluded. As the President acknowledged in his recent birthday tribute to him, Nasir actually played a significant role in installing President Tinubu. However, just because he isn't in the administration doesn't mean he should try to bring down the roof. The President holds no animosity toward Nasir."

Onanuga's comments come after El-Rufai, in an exclusive interview on Arise TV on Monday, February 24, expressed frustration with the APC. He stated that his discontent stemmed from the President's economic policies and the direction of the ruling party, adding that he "doesn't recognize the party any longer."
