Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila is bent on making sure Nigerians benefit free electricity for two months.
To make that happen, he invited the power sector stakeholders, the Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman; GMD of NNPC, Mele Kyari; NERC Chairman, James Momoh; MD of NBET, Marilyn Amobi and Heads of all DISCOs to work out the most practical way to effect the palliative.
"All people care about is accessing light. Giving people light is not a favour, it is their right. Both religions (Christians and Muslims) refer to light. Let's just deliver what we agreed to do," Gbajabiamila urged all stakeholders.
In line with his plans, the speaker set up a technical committee which will design a workable model that will hopefully target intended consumers throughout Nigeria.
