Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has free 300 inmates from the Goron Dutse Correctional Facility.
This is in line with the Federal Government’s directive to decongest prisons, the Governor said.
300 inmates on lesser charges were freed with their fines paid up by the state.
"The idea is to reduce the population to avoid a viral outbreak," the Ganduje added.
He was in the company of his deputy, Dr Nasiru Gawuna.
