Pat Utomi, born Patrick Okedinachi Utomi on February 6, 1956, in Kaduna, Nigeria, is a distinguished professor of political economy, management expert, and public intellectual.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria and has served in various high-level positions in both the public and private sectors. Utomi is the founder of the Centre for Values in Leadership (CVL) and the political party, the African Democratic Congress.

Utomi’s educational background is impressive, with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and advanced degrees (MPA, MA, and Ph.D.) from Indiana University, Bloomington1. He has held academic positions at prestigious institutions, including the Lagos Business School, where he was appointed a professor in 2003.

His career also includes roles such as Special Assistant to former President Shehu Shagari and Chief Operating Officer at Volkswagen Nigeria.

In addition to his academic and professional achievements, Utomi has been actively involved in civil society and political advocacy. He has coordinated the establishment of several groups focused on good governance and accountability, such as Transparency in Nigeria and the Restoration Group.
