He attended Yaba College of Technology and the University of West London, where he developed a foundation for his political career. Known for his dedication to public service, Matawalle has been involved in both state and national politics.

Matawalle served as the Governor of Zamfara State from May 2019 to May 2023, where he focused on addressing the region's critical security challenges and improving local infrastructure.
