Henry Dele Alake, born on October 6, 1956, is a prominent Nigerian journalist, activist, and technocrat, currently serving as the Minister of Solid Minerals Development in Nigeria, a position he assumed on August 21, 2023.

Alake's career in public service began when he served as the Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 under then-Governor Bola Tinubu. He was instrumental in shaping the communication strategies of the state government and played a key role as the communication advisor to Chief Moshood Abiola during the annulled June 12, 1993, presidential election, a pivotal moment in Nigeria's political history.

Educationally, Alake holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Mass Communications, both from the University of Lagos. He started his journalism career at the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation and later worked at the Lagos State Broadcasting Corporation and Concord Press, where he further honed his skills and established himself as a respected voice in Nigerian media.
