Hope Odidika Uzodimma, born on December 12, 1958, in Omuma, Imo State, is a Nigerian politician currently serving as the governor of Imo State since 2020. Coming from an Igbo Catholic family, his father, Chief Michael Uzodimma, held the chieftaincy title of Igwe of Ozuh Omuma, while his mother was Ezinne Rose Uzodimma (née Nneoha). Uzodimma, a devout Catholic, is married to Chioma Uzodimma, and they have seven children together.

Uzodimma's educational background includes attending Mgbidi Secondary School in Omumu, Imo State, and earning a bachelor's degree in International Studies from an undisclosed college in 1982. He also holds a master's degree in Human Relations from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) and a degree in Political Science from the University of London. Additionally, he claims to have a bachelor's degree in International Studies and Diplomacy from Washington University in St. Louis, although the university denies this claim.

Uzodimma's political career began during the Second Nigerian Republic when he joined the ruling National Party of Nigeria (NPN). In the 1990s, he was a member of the United Nigeria Congress Party during the aborted transition to the Third Nigerian Republic. After the return to democracy in 1999, he joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where he served in various capacities, including the party's National Caucus and Board of Trustees. Notably, he was elected senator for the Orlu (Imo West) constituency in the 2011 federal elections.

On January 14, 2020, the Supreme Court of Nigeria declared Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the 2019 governorship poll in Imo State, nullifying the election of the then-incumbent governor, Emeka Ihedioha. Prior to his political career, Uzodimma was a businessman with diverse interests. Recently, on November 20, 2023, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented the Certificate of Return to Governor Uzodimma, solidifying his position in office.
