Seun Kuti, born Oluseun Anikulapo Kuti on January 11, 1983, in Lagos State, is the youngest son of the legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. Growing up in a family deeply rooted in music and activism. Seun began playing instruments and performing with his father's band, Egypt 80 when he was just nine years old.

He attended the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, where he further honed his musical skills and deepened his understanding of music production and performance.

After Fela's death in 1997, Seun officially took over as the lead singer of Egypt 80.
