Eedris Abdulkareem, born Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja on December 24, 1974, is a prominent Nigerian hip-hop artist, songwriter, and singer. His journey through the music industry is both fascinating and impactful.

Eedris was born into a polygamous family in Kano, Nigeria. His father hailed from Ilesha in Osun State, and his mother was from Ogun State in the southwestern part of Nigeria. Despite these origins, he adopted Kano State as his state of origin. Tragically, he lost his father at the tender age of two and later faced the loss of eight elder siblings, which significantly shaped his early life.

Eedris Abdulkareem gained prominence as the lead rapper of the defunct Nigerian hip-hop boy band The Remedies, which also included Tony Tetuilla and Eddy Montana. He is considered one of the pioneers of Nigerian hip-hop and ranks among the most influential Nigerian rappers of all time. Following the dissolution of The Remedies, Eedris embarked on a successful solo career, releasing several albums and hit singles. In June 2024, he made headlines with his new song titled "Emi Lokan," where he criticized both current and past administrations, including Bola Tinubu and Muhammadu Buhari, for the high cost of living and perceived religious hypocrisy.

Eedris Abdulkareem's discography includes notable albums such as "Pass" (2002), "Mr. Lecturer" (2002), "Jaga Jaga" (2004), "Letter to Mr. President" (2005),"King Is Back" (2007), "Unfinished Business" (2010), and "Nothing But The Truth" (2020). His impact on Nigerian music remains significant, and his outspoken nature continues to resonate with fans and critics alike.
