The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Lagos state has surged to 18 as of today, according to the Commissioner for Health of Lagos State, Prof, Akin Abayomi.
In a brief address by the Commissioner via his handle, he noted that 7 new cases have been confirmed today and six out of that seven have travel history outside Nigeria in the last one week.
One of seven new cases is a close contact of a confirmed case, he added.
He also revealed only two have recovered and been discharged out of the total 18 confirmed cases in Lagos.

Abayomi said travelers on flights BA75 and KLM 587 which arrived in Lagos on the 18th March, 2020 have been exposed to confirmed COVID-19 cases. He advised them to self-isolate and reach out to the ministry if they showed any symptoms.
As at yesterday, only 19 suspected cases were announced with 4 turning positive for the virus.
