The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has told Nigerians to make sure their environments are devoid of rats.
The agency which is handicapped having to tend to major cases of Lassa Fever and Coronavirus, reminded citizens that good hygiene is the way to go.
"Nigeria is also responding to an outbreak of Lassa fever.
"Lassa fever is a highly infectious disease, mostly transmitted through contact with rats.
"Hygiene is key in the prevention of Lassa fever. Please keep your environment clean at all times to avoid attracting rats," it tweeted.
