Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire has said investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of reported deaths in Kano State.
This is coming after deaths were reported in areas like Zage, Kano Municipal, Tarauni, Gwale, Kurna, Dala, Chiromawa, Zango, Kofar Mata, amongst others.
Reports indicated that about 190 people have died in the past four days in the state, amounting to an average of 47 deaths per day.
While the Kano State Governor, Umar Ganduje has consistently denied the reports, panic has taken a spike in the state.
Promising to get to the bottom of the matter, the Health Minister said:
"The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has deployed rapid response teams to support 27 states in response to COVID19 in Nigeria with recent being Abia, Gombe & Sokoto.”
“Investigations are still ongoing to determine the cause of reported deaths in Kano State.
