Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai has tested positive for coronavirus.
He made this declaration in a short announcement this evening.
"Earlier this week, I submitted a sample for the COVID-19 test, I regret to inform you that it is positive. According to the protocols, I am in self-isolation. I appeal to the people of Kaduna state to observe preventive measures already announced," he said
He placed the deputy governor, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe in charge of the taskforce on COVID-19 and promised to issue statements from time to time.
