Singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared his thoughts on marriage, emphasizing that getting married is no joke.

Davido revealed that before marrying his wife, Chioma, in June 2024, they lived together for eight years.

In a recent interview, the singer disclosed that he met Chioma during his university years, and their decision to live together had made the transition to married life smoother.

Davido acknowledged that marriage comes with its own challenges. He said, “The transition was smooth, but it’s different; getting married is no joke.”

He continued, “My partner and I lived together for a long time before we got married. I met her in my third year in college, and I was fortunate that we moved in together early—about eight years prior to getting married.”

Davido praised Chioma’s understanding and support for his career over the years, highlighting that he was frequently away on tour.

He stated, “Throughout our time living together, I was touring and often on the road. She always understood my work, knowing that I’m happiest when I’m working. She knows I love music, just as she loves being in the kitchen.”

Since their marriage, Davido and Chioma welcomed a set of twins the year before in the United States.
