Singer Harrysong has voiced his concern over the ongoing debate about payment for gospel artistes.
The issue was raised by pastors questioning gospel artistes who request payment for performing at churches.
Recently, Pastor Femi Lazarus criticized gospel artistes who charge substantial fees to minister at churches.
In response, singer Timi Dakolo, displeased by the pastor's comments, argued that pastors should stop gaslighting gospel singers and instead rely on their choirs if they cannot afford to pay gospel artistes.
Harrysong also weighed in, questioning why it should be considered a "sin" for churches to pay guest artistes, especially when they pay and take care of their pastors.
He remarked, “The fact that some gospel musicians have monetized their gifts and charge substantial sums for ministrations is the result of the church's failure. Some pastors and overseers are too selfish. If the church pays and takes care of pastors for preaching, why is it a sin for the church to pay me for singing?"
