Senior Pastor of The Word International Christian Centre, known as Wonders’ Chapel, Bayo Oluwayemi, has warned his church members not to prioritise the church over their children.

In a sermon, Pastor Oluwayemi cautioned that any member with school fees to pay for their children should address that first before giving money to the church.

He urged them not to jeopardise their children’s future. The clergyman believes that religion can enslave people.

The cleric said, “I want to let you know, if your children’s school fees is due, do not bring money to church. Don’t sell your children’s future. Don’t mortgage your children’s future. That’s one thing about religion, it put you under rules. Religion put you into slavery. “If you don’t pay tithe, God will not bless you.” Then you start struggling to pay tithe. Whereas your children’s school fees are due. The devil will deceive you. First do my own, then the children’s school fees have to go and wait. It is God that needs money or church?”
