After meeting the bail conditions at about 4:30 p.m., he knelt to thank the magistrate.

Portable, who had evaded arrest and was declared wanted by the Ogun Command on Wednesday, February 19, later turned himself in at the Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Lagos Command, on Wednesday morning.

The Zazoo Zeh crooner was arraigned on a five-count charge, including conspiracy, assault, obstruction, possession of dangerous weapons such as cutlasses and guns, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Portable and his associates reportedly attacked the three town planning officers while they were carrying out their lawful duties at Odogwu Bar, owned by the singer.

After pleading not guilty, his counsel, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, urged the court to grant him bail, assuring the court of his client’s remorse.

Following this, Magistrate O.L. Oke granted Portable bail in the sum of N2 million with one surety and adjourned the case till March 5 for trial.
