Nigerian singer Paul Okoye believes he wasted his time in school when he recounted how his teacher made him label parts of a cockroach.

In a post shared on his social media page, Paul Okoye wrote, “Draw a cockroach and label it? Why una just waste some of my time in secondary school? Why?”

His post garnered mixed reactions. Some argued that it wasn’t a waste of time as it contributed to his learning ability, while others sided with Paul Okoye.

Below are some reactions.

@JonalistIsrael: That one has shape. What of amoeba that is shapeless and we still drew it?

@mind_talkss: Just because you didn’t end up using it doesn’t mean it was a waste.

Better for them to teach you & you don’t use it for you to need it later & they didn’t teach you

@OlalekanOjo_: I believe the best part of high days are character building. You don’t necessarily need what you are taught but these tiny fragments of unrelated topics makes a lot of difference …

@Amy_beke: I drew a skeleton and labeled it

@Talk2MaRa: Nigerian educational system na joke

@lifeinsolace: Cockroach still far. Draw a leaf and label

@PrettyMfon: No knowledge gained is a waste
