Veteran Nollywood actor Ugezu J. Ugezu has reacted to Nigerian entertainer Noble Igwe's portrayal of Igbo men as wealthy but uneducated.
Taking to his social media platform, the entertainer criticized some of the ways men behave, especially in public places.
Noble Igwe related a story about how some Igbo guys tried to interrupt a wedding he was at.
A group of affluent Igbo guys, according to Igwe, arrived late to the dinner and disrespected the hosts by not following the seating arrangements.
Additionally, he gave instances of Igbo men at another event who left their designated tables to eat food—specifically, beans—while sat in chairs.
Igwe stated that until there is a discernible improvement, he will keep confronting the improper behavior of Igbo men.
Actor Ugezu J. Ugezu responded to Igwe's comments on Igbo males by criticizing the performer and raising doubts about whether his remarks were merely an effort to attract attention. He added that in light of Igwe's remarks, he will consult a shrine for advice.
He wrote: “Mazi Noble Igwe, please be sure that you are not chasing clout. Be sure that all the allegations you are making against Ndigbo are true. Ifea ga abanyekwa na alusi (This thing will enter the shrine). Adi asikpo obodo asi (They don’t lie on an entire tribe). Adi esi alusi nwelu ibobo ngo”.
