Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has announced his departure from the YBNL Nation record label owned by rapper Olamide.

Asake confirmed his exit from YBNL after releasing his latest song, ‘Why Love’ under his own imprint, Giran Republic.

It was alleged that Asake had parted ways with Olamide’s record label, but neither the YBNL boss nor Asake addressed the speculations.

The singer previously praised Olamide in his first single of the year, ‘Military,’ shorting down rumours of their separation.

In February 2022, Asake signed with YBNL Nation. In July 2022, he secured a distribution deal with Empire.

Despite leaving YBNL, Asake reportedly maintains his deal with Empire.
