Nigerian author and social media commentator Reno Omokri has faced heavy criticism after advising Nigerians not to migrate from the country in search of greener pastures.
The controversial social commentator shared a video in which he urged Nigerians not to move to other countries, particularly in Europe, as he believed Nigeria offered better opportunities.
Omokri, who opposed migration from Nigeria, argued that even if people desired to leave the country for better prospects, relocating to European countries would be a significant mistake.
He further stated that Nigerians could consider moving to California instead of Europe, the US, or the UK, as the living conditions there were more stable. He pointed out that even white people in those countries were struggling, making it even more challenging for Nigerians who might also face xenophobic attacks.
Omokri's comments sparked a backlash on social media, with many users criticizing him for giving advice while being out of the country himself.
