Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has criticized producers who force actors in their films to reach one million views on YouTube the day after they are uploaded.
The mother of two advised performers to resist pressure from producers to generate a lot of numbers on YouTube.
Ruth Kadiri asserts that a successful film does not have to have one million viewers.
Taking to her Instagram page she wrote, “Dear Nollywood actors, take the pressure off your shoulders! Any producer who requires one million views from you in one day has failed. A good production requires more than your face.
One million views is not a standard of success. So much y’all don’t know about YouTube. Don’t let their ignorance rob you of your joy.”
Many social media users and celebrities concurred with her in the comments section.

adeniyijohnson: "Dear Ruth Kadiri, can I buy you your favourite drink? (GOD BLESS YOU)… They make actors think less of themselves and look like a total failure"
punomart: "That's why we have a lot of 2 hour films we can watch under 30mins."
derabeledutoys_ng: "One million views a day has made them turn YouTube movies into skits. Poor storylines, poor production, no values, no morals, comments section filled with nothing related to the movie....exhausted is the word! Thank you for stating the obvious, can we go back to the days when real content are made as movies?"
_jcmichael: "Can we also talk about how actors who mistakenly gets the 1m views in or two movies now think themselves as God and use one day to increase their fee without thinking how producers cope? Or should we leave that table for another day?"
eroniniofficial: "You didn’t have to but you did , that’s why I love you"
