Nigerian Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has revealed his deep disappointment after not receiving an invitation to singer Davido's wedding, despite their past friendship.
Speaking in an episode of the podcast "Curiosity Made Me Ask" with Bae U Barbie, Kuti admitted that the snub affected him so much that he struggled to sleep for a week.
Kuti explained that he and Davido share a close history, with the singer frequently visiting the African Shrine, the iconic venue owned by the Kuti family. Davido, often accompanied by a large entourage, would enjoy complimentary drinks at the Shrine during his visits.
"Davido would come to the African Shrine with 100 guys and drink without paying, but when it was time for his wedding, I didn’t get an invite," Kuti expressed, emphasizing the hurt he felt due to the unexpected exclusion from the high-profile event.
The revelation sheds light on the emotional impact of the snub, especially given the history of hospitality and friendship between the two artists.
