Popular Nigerian activist Deji Adeyanju has reported that musician and social media sensation Darlington Okoye, also known as Speed Darlington, who was previously reported missing, is currently being detained by the Nigerian Police Force in Abuja.

Deji Adeyanju claimed that Speed Darlington, also known as Akpi, was arrested in Lagos last Friday, October 4, 2024, and was later transferred to Abuja, where he has been held in custody ever since.

He mentioned that Grammy Award-winning singer Burna Boy had filed an official complaint, leading to Speed Darlington's arrest. However, Deji Adeyanju did not disclose the specifics of the petition that Burna Boy had submitted against Speed Darlington.

In a post on his X account, Adeyanju wrote, "We just spent the last 30mins with Speed Darlington and he narrated how he was arrested in Lagos Friday last week, moved around and eventually brought to Abuja and has been in detention since then. Petition against him was written by Burna Boy we can confirm."
