Controversial social media influencer Daniel Regha provoked debate online after he attacked afrobeats singer Davido's father, Adedeji Adeleke for donating N1 billion to a church.
Adedeji Adeleke, Davido's father, recently made news when he disclosed his intention to give one billion naira to a church he regularly attended every Sunday.
Reacting to the billionaire's gesture, Daniel Regha said that while attending church is acceptable, giving a billion naira to a country where millions of people are starving is inappropriate.
Instead, he suggested employing the money to create employment possibilities so that the masses could also benefit.
He wrote, “Giving to the church is fine, but donating over a billion to any church, in a country where millions are starving & struggling to survive doesn’t seem right. Davido’s dad should’ve used about 80% of that money to create employment opportunities.”
Many social media users found Daniel Regha's advice absurd, citing that he was in no position to advise the billionaire.
