Former Big Brother Naija housemate Doyin David shared her candid opinions about marriage and love in a recent interview with Olufemi Daniel.

In contrast to a lot of people, the reality star dates with no intention of getting married. Rather, she values companionship highly and gives her partner's presence top priority.

She said: “I date for the sake of companionship, not necessarily for marriage.”

Although she admitted that having sex is a normal aspect of a relationship, she does not date primarily for sex.

According to Doyin, she is amenable to a long-term relationship, whether or not it culminates in a formal marriage.

Rather than just signing papers, she believes that connection and friendship are the true foundation of a relationship.

Doyin's objective is to find a lifelong partner, with or without the formality of marriage, with whom she can create a close bond and share meaningful experiences.

She added: “I mean, sex is part of companionship, isn’t it? But it’s not the main reason I’m dating. I date for companionship, not for marriage, so if it doesn’t lead to marriage, I’m fine; we had a good time. But if it does okay, I’m fine with doing a life partnership if a marriage doesn’t come up."

“At the end of the day, what is marriage? Is it about signing papers? It’s not important to me, and I’m not trying to talk down on constitutional marriage.

“Companionship is important to me, so I would like to have a lifetime of companionship, whether we’re married or not. I just want to have someone who is my person for the rest of my life, so it’s not important to me that we have to be legally married."
