Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and his wife Chioma Rowland held their wedding in Lagos on Tuesday, June 25, 2025.

The lavish wedding was attended by several dignitaries, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, and Ogun State Governor Dap Abiodun, among other politicians.

Entertainers present included music executive Don Jazzy, singers Zlatan and Iyanya, rapper Olamide, and actresses Iyabo Ojo, Nkechi Blessing, Ini Edo and others.

The wedding received lots of praise from fans and well-wishers who took to social media to share their excitement about Davido and Chioma's wedding.

However, some raised concerns about the wedding's location. Some questioned why it was held in Lagos instead of Chioma's hometown, as tradition dictates.

Some criticized Chioma's parents, suggesting that they allowed the wedding to be held in Lagos due to financial reasons, rather than in her hometown of Imo State in the South East.

In defense of the decision to choose Lagos over Imo State, the Biafra agitation was cited as the reason Chioma chose to hold her wedding in the Centre of Excellence.

There have been issues of insecurity in the South East, including Imo State, due to conflicts involving the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Eastern Security Network (ESN), and the Nigerian army.

At the event, attended by family and friends of the newlyweds, Chioma looked stunning in her traditional attire, as did her husband Davido in his Igbo traditional outfit.

Chioma also wore a beautiful Yoruba attire, representing her husband's tribe, which received many compliments.
