Nigerian socialite and businessman Pascal Okechukwu widely known as Cubana Chief Priest has asserted that he relocated his business to Lagos State due to unrest in the Southeast.
The celebrity barman made this disclosure while speaking in a recent interview with BBC Igbo.
Cubana Chief Priest bemoaned the fact that regular visitors from the East had stopped coming because they were afraid of being kidnapped and killed.
He said: “There is widespread hunger in the South-East. It is our own community members who provide criminals with information.
“Our people began targeting the wealthy, so the wealthy stopped returning home during festivities. That’s why I moved to Lagos to conduct my business.”
Cubana Chief Priest has gained widespread recognition in Nigeria and abroad for his flamboyant lifestyle, friendly demeanour, and conspicuous displays of riches.
The celebrity can easily afford his opulent lifestyle because he owns numerous enterprises that bring him millions of naira.
Cubana Chief Priest studied shoemaking in Aba, carrying on his father's shoemaking legacy. While attending Federal Polytechnic Nekede in Owerri, his perseverance paid off, as he earned his first million from shoemaking.
Thanks to his business zeal, an important turning point in his career was when he founded Club Xhrine in Owerri.
