Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has recently advocated for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program to be abolished in a post that went viral on social media.
The actress shared her unforgettable experience in a tweet sent from her verified Twitter account, where she also mentioned that she tented in Bauchi state.
Kate mentioned that she received many freebies with her NYSC identity card while a corps member.
"When I served in the North, it was a very memorable experience. Travelling from Bauchi by road to the airport was safe & then flying to Lagos just with my NYSC ID card, which also got me rebate on my ticket," she said.
In a tweet posted from her verified Twitter account, the actress described her wonderful experience and said that she had camped in Bauchi state.
She said: "It's time to SCRAP this idea since corpers can't travel within this country without LET OR HINDRANCE! Stop putting the lives of young people at risk with moribund ideas. Security is a priority & needs to be sorted totally, not technically."
This occurs as the NYSC camp in Borno reopens after a 13-year hiatus.
