A video of veteran actor Pete Edochie endorsing his son Yul Edochie to bid as a presidential candidate in the upcoming general election in the year 2023 has generated several comments.
In the video, Pete Edochie indicated his disinterest in politics but openly granted his son permission to contest the presidential election.
After Pete Edochie threw in his support for his son, Yul knelt to receive his father's blessings and prayers.
The actor cum politician has followed the footsteps of his fellow actor colleagues, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) and Desmond Elliot.
Yul is optimistic that his ambition to contest the presidential election will yield results.
Following the endorsement, some Nigerians have taken to social media to express their thoughts on the endorsement.
Some Twitter users were excited by the news while others criticized him for his lack of political experience.
Below are some tweets:
Yes this is what we need come 2023. Men with visions for this country. No more recycling the government. We need a fresh start. Congratulations in advance sir!

Join an unknown party build it in your constituency and run for the HoR on the platform, focus all your energy on it instead of spreading little energy across state capitals where it wont be felt.
We have been shouting we want a young person to lead us in 2023 and the old guys must retire permanently from politics, now we have a young man to push and the same youths are saying he should contest from his local government first. If bubu does something tomorrow we will go>
