Nigerian singer, Rema has opened up about an ordeal that occurred before he was introduced to the limelight. According to a tweet from the 'Dumebi' hitmaker, he stole a laptop from Eric in 2017.

Despite rife media speculation that he was referring to Big Brother Naija season 5 housemate, Eric, we could not confirm it at the time of filig this report.

Rema explained that he did it because his mother was pregnant at the time.

Opening-up about his situation, Rema also stated that he was the only man in the house and wanted to prove his detractors wrong.

He tweeted: “Sorry I stole your Laptop in 2017, I know you were trying to help me. My Mom had a child on the way, I was the only man in my family. They made fun of her because she got pregnant, I wanted to prove them wrong bro, I had to do it.
