Veteran Nigerian actress, Kate Henshaw has sent a word of caution to Nigerian parents to resist the temptation to show--off their children on social media at their tender age.
In a tweet shared via her official twitter page, Kate said that the urge to expose them to the social lifestyle is appealing, however, she noted that parents should at least let the child grow older so they "know the dangers associated with it."
"I know it's hard but resist the urge to put your children out there on social media. When they are old enough to know the dangers associated with it, then," she tweeted.
The mother of one believes this has become necessary because of the evil intentions of many who watch these harmless kids on social media.
"Many are roaming, watching, tracking, with evil intentions. May God protect our children in this new age."
Social media has become a necessary evil since it became part of everyday lifestyle of many Nigerians.
People from all works of life use photos and videos to keep their followers abreast with their everyday lifestyle.
I know its hard but resist the urge to put your children out there on social media.

When they are old enough to know the dangers associated with it, then .....
Many are roaming, watching, tracking, with evil intentions.
May God protect our children in this new age.

Aunty Kate I saw that video and a couple of other stories and It was like cotton wool was lifted from my eyes. I know we mean well... and it is a struggle, especially for those who genuinely want to do it for fun... however, it’s a case of risks outweighing the benefits.

So true!! I sparingly put my children on SM. I just have this notion that it's not good security wise. God is our helper.

My Children are shining on social media, I store the memories there, as I've learned from experience that I keep losing pictures. I feel sorry for any human that'll think o preying on my kids, my fear is for them

I agree with this, I love a very private life and that is what I will do with my kids until they're old enough to make decisions for themselves.

Am of the opinion that not everything about one's self should be shared on social media. Children of certain ages shouldn't be given smartphones.
