Singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has explained his father’s decision to buy out his first music contract.

In a post shared on social media, Tosin Ashafa revealed details of how Davido’s billionaire father, Adedeji Adeleke, bought out the singer’s contract after realizing how serious his son was about his music career.

Ashafa revealed, "I signed @davido to his 1st official contract under Black Diamond Promotions with Cecil Hammond/another silent partner. We hired @GodwinTom to manage him. Dr. Adeleke realized David was really serious with pushing his music without him, reached out to us, and bought us out."

Davido, in response to the post, stated that although the contract was a good one, his father wanted him to keep 100 percent of whatever he was to earn from his business.

He appreciated the record label for allowing his leave. "Lmao I remember this day. So much respect to you guys for allowing me walk!! Just know u were part of something that turned out to be phenomenal!!" the singer wrote.

In response to the Davido’s comment, Ashafa stated that the DMW boss’s talent was unstoppable and that he was proud of how far he had come in his music career.
