Embattled on-air personality, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel who is popularly known as Nedu Wazobia has stated that he was unaware his relationship with Martins Vincent Otse had deteriorated before the latter publicly criticized him.
He made this known during a press conference while addressing allegations leveled against him by several social media influencers.
Responding to questions from the press, he said, "My relationship with VDM was never strained. We were not best friends, but we talked whenever we met."
Recall that on Thursday, February 20, VDM accused Nedu of fraud, sharing details of the allegation on his Instagram page.
According to the social media critic, Nedu allegedly defrauded a United Kingdom-based man who intended to launch a scholarship scheme for brilliant but underprivileged Nigerian students through the Metropolitan School of Business and Management in the UK.
The man, whose identity was not confirmed at the time of filing this report, reportedly sought Nedu’s assistance, and the OAP agreed to be the face of the program to help Nigerian youths secure the UK scholarship. When the man and his team asked Nedu for the cost of his services, he allegedly proposed an N85 million budget for a fundraising gala.
He reportedly assured them that once celebrities and other guests were inside the hall, an account number would be displayed for donations to the charity.
To make the event grand, Nedu allegedly planned to hire 10 influencers at N500,000 each, allocate N3.5 million for digital marketing, and pay for 20 billboards at N350,000 each.
For video production, he proposed N2 million, media coverage at N96,000 per outlet for 11 media houses, and additional expenses, including food and drinks, bringing the total budget to N85 million.
He allegedly requested an upfront payment of N60 million, receiving an initial N40 million, followed by N9.8 million and N10.2 million in subsequent payments.
