A young woman who recently graduated from university has expressed concern after the police arrested her sister for gifting her a money bouquet, totalling N50,000.

She explained that she received a call from her sister informing her of the arrest due to the money bouquet she gifted her for signing out of the university.

The police claimed that she had abused the naira, which led to her arrest.

Upon arriving at the police station, they requested her release but were told she needed to settle with the police before her sister could be released.

The police insisted that the abuse of the naira was the reason for the arrest.

The young lady was troubled by the police’s actions and questioned the extent of their authority over a money bouquet.

Her complaint on social media has sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians.

Many people wondered if the police had also arrested the billionaire sons, Okoya, who were seen on social media spraying large amounts of cash.

Here are some reactions from social media.

@TheNaijaGambit: Those Okowa boys are still walking free

@iamyongjoe: Actually you abused the naira sha... If you want to give flower , give flower then dash person 50k , you don't have to wrap the notes like flowers, that's the point

@Bp_benediction: Get a lawyer but if you can’t then settle if you want your friend to be home, cause Nigeria is govern by corrupt people. Not everything you post online next time

@BObinrin: Everybody under this CS are hypocrites, see rubbish that you all are saying. When Okoya children abuse naira to our face even in the presence of the police, Nigeria Police/EFCC didn’t arrest them or punish them either. Let me sentimental and forget about tribe, let say they real
